From 14th – 20th May, Action for Brain Injury Week returns. Throughout the week, national charity Headway UK will be working to raise awareness about the impact of brain injury.
Brain injury is devastating not only for the injured individual but also for their families and loved ones. This year, the theme of Action for Brain Injury Week is You, Me and brain injury, with the campaign set to focus on the impact brain injury can have relationships.
The campaign will also demonstrate the ways in which we can help injured individuals adapt to their changed circumstances and regain a sense of confidence and independence.
Headway is urging supporters to get involved in the campaign online via their social media accounts. Beneficiaries will be encouraged to speak up about their own experiences of brain injury. They’ll also be given the opportunity to pay tribute to those who have helped them deal with their condition.
At Jefferies, we work closely with Headway and regularly fundraise for the organisation. Over the last 25 years, we have helped many families and individuals who have been affected by head injury. On Friday 18th May, we will once again be taking part in Hats for Headway Day. Following the success of last year, we’ll be sporting our most stylish headwear to help raise money and awareness for the charity.
In June, a group of brave staff members will be travelling to London to abseil the ArcelorMittal Orbit. To sponsor the team and help raise funds to help support Headway’s important work, visit our JustGiving page.
