CLINICAL NEGLIGENCE-CASE STUDY
Medical professionals failed to identify the client‘s health issue, causing prolonged and unnecessary pain and suffering. Our clinical negligence team worked to help secure £5,000 in compensation.
|INJURY SUMMARY||Unnecessary pain and suffering|
|CASE RESOLUTION||Case settled in October 2021 £5,000 awarded|
|CASE HANDLER||Nadine Elkin|
The client had an intrauterine device fitted. After the insertion, the client suffered abdominal pain and sought medical assistance. The client was sent for a womb scan to investigate the pain and was told that the device could not be seen and must have fallen out. Over an 18-month period, the client suffered severe abdominal pain and suffering. Despite repeated medical appointments, medical professionals attributed the symptoms to other possible causes. The client’s pain and suffering were repeatedly dismissed until an x-ray revealed that the device was still in the patient and had been causing the pain and suffering.
Unnecessary pain and suffered which immediately stopped once the device was removed.
Our client instructed Jefferies in 2018 and was represented by clinical negligence solicitor Nadine Elkin.
The claim was settled in October 2021 for £5,000.
