CIRCUMSTANCES
One afternoon in July 2020 our client was shopping. The client was walking down a fridge aisle. One of the fridges was leaking and was in the process of being fixed by engineers who had put bags down to absorb the leaking water.
At the time of the accident, no engineers were present and the bags had been left on the floor. No warning signs had been put up, and the area had not been blocked off.
The bags that had been put down to absorb the water from the leaking fridge had split causing the contents to spill out. Our client slipped on the contents, causing them to fall.
INJURIES
As a result of the accident, the client suffered ongoing pain and swelling to areas of the body where they had landed when they had fallen.
The client was unable to carry out day-to-day activities without assistance for some time.
SETTLEMENT
