In January 2018 the client was working as a delivery driver, delivering food to customers. The client was delivering food to a customer who had a steep driveway that was unlit.
The client slipped and fell on their right arm. Despite the pain and suffering from the injury, the client delivered the food to the customer and then drove back to their place of work. The client informed their manager of the accident and the need for urgent medical assistance. The client went to the hospital where they were given an x-ray and medical attention.
The client contacted Jefferies Solicitors in November 2018 to make a personal injury claim.
The client suffered a fractured arm requiring surgery.
The injury caused the client to have 6 weeks off work. They could no longer return to their former job as a delivery driver due to the arm injury. An alternative position was offered but the client struggled with the new role due to their arm injury, as a result, they had to leave their employment.
The injury has meant that the client struggles to pick up heavy objects and has restricted movement in their arm. This has affected their employment, but also their personal life, for example, the client was a keen golfer but they are no longer able to play golf due to their injury.
Our client instructed Jefferies in 2018 and was represented by case handler, Hayley Bird.
The claim was settled in February 2022 for £17,500. This includes costs incurred due to the injury, such as loss of earnings.
