CIRCUMSTANCES
Our client worked as a warehouse operative. On the day of the accident, they were stock-taking on the factory floor. Whilst the client was stock-taking, other staff were on stacker trucks. The client heard the reversing beacon sound, which was not unusual on the factory floor when they were suddenly struck by a forklift truck. The person operating the stacker truck had not looked and had reversed into our client, knocking them to the ground and causing our client to sustain injuries.
Our client sustained injuries to the head, left ankle, and shoulder, requiring over 2 months off work. A rotator cuff tear to a shoulder and a deep laceration to an ankle that required 18 stitches. The shoulder injury is permanent.
SETTLEMENT
Our client instructed Jefferies and was represented by solicitor Karl Rushton.
The claim was settled in February 2023 for £65,000 which included future and past losses of earnings. The client said, “Karl was very understanding and patient with me as I didn’t understand a lot of the words and meanings and kept me informed all the way through the case.”
