The accident took place at a farm in June 2020 where the client was working as a herdsman. He had made his employer aware of the behavioural issues of one of the bulls and the employer had agreed that the bull was dangerous and arranged for the bull to be put down. The company that had been arranged to put the pull down did not turn up and a week later no attempts had been made to confine or restrain the bull. Whilst the client was working with the herd, the bull suddenly charged at the client causing injury and loss.
Following the accident the client suffered injury and loss including crush injuries, broken ribs and mobility issues. Following the accident, the client was unable to continue their work as a herdsman due to their injuries.
The client contacted Jefferies Solicitors in January 2021 and was represented by Case Handler Crystal Collins. The client was awarded £100,000 in compensation in October 2022. The settlement included costs for injury and losses such as loss of earnings as they were unable to work following the accident and medical expenses. Of their experience in claiming with Jefferies Solicitors, the client said “Crystal Collins dealt with our claim with compassion, understanding and professionalism. She kept us informed every step of the way and made our claim as easy and stress free as possible – thank you.”
